EMERGENCY PROCEDURES USED WITH ATTAC-1™
FOR VOLATILE FUELS AND SOLVENTS
TO SUPPRESS VAPOR AND REDUCES RISK FROM
A SAFETY PRODUCT FOR DANGEROUS, VOLATILE PETROLEUM
Attac-1™ And Defense-1™ Guidelines
For Spills of Volatile Hydrocarbons Such As
Gasoline, Diesel, Solvents, Oils, Etc.
The Primary response objective at a hazardous
materials incident or emergency is the elimination or reduction of direct
lossses. This is accomplished by the following guidelines and procedures:
Use a safe scene approach:
supplied in 15 lb. and 25 lb. multi-wall bags.
i) Use caution; approach the incident uphill
and up wind.
2) Give a first-in report and assume command.
ii) Stay clear of all spills , vapors, fumes
iii) Resist the urge to rush in.
i) Identify the nature and serverity of the immediate
ii) Identify the product: use identification
numbers, placards, labels, shipping papers,MSDS sheets, etc.
i) Assure the safety of the people and the environment
5) Safely mitigate the spill if:
ii) Isolate the area and deny entry to all people.
iii) If appropriate, secure the scene with barriewr
iv) Evacuate the area according to recommendations
in the DOT guidebook.
v) Remove victims if possible.
vi) Perform emergency decontamination if required.
vii) Protect in place.
viii) Provide appropriate EMS care.
i) Product is a known hydrocarbon volatile fuel
ii) You have the necessary training, protection
equipment and resources.
(1) Dispense Attac-1™
on the spill and adsorb liquid.
(2) Use Attac-1™
to dam the flow and rubber mat on drain to
prevent flow into drains or sewers.
(3) If liquid has entered the drain or sewer
apply Attac-1™ or
access is available to suppress vapors.
(4) After completely adsorbing the liquid apply
afine spray of water on the surface of the adsorbent mass. ( if moist surface
is broken the liquid may ignite but will burn without vigor.)
(5) If the liquid ignites after adsorbed use
a fine spray of water to extinguish Attac-1™
fire or a fine spray of water or more Defense-1™
on a Defense-1™
(6) Remove adsorbent mass in appropriate containers.
(7) Dispose the Attac-1™
mass by incineration and the Defense-1™
mass in appropriate land fill (liquid will not leech
out of the Defense-1™
mass). Follow All Local, State and Federal Regulations.
