Washington DOT appears to utilize AASHTO M 288 as a guideline for geotextile with some modifications. The specification for "Geotextile Properties for Retaining Wall & Reinforced Slopes" is very confusing. The Washington DOT Qualified Products List for this specification list geogrids, which would make sense for this application. However the specification clearly allows for a woven and nonwoven geotextile. Perhaps these are to be used as facing wraps? Please be careful here.  Below are our geotextile products that meet the Washington DOT geotextile specification, listed by their application.
