Open Channels Solutions for Managing Stormwater
Vegetated, aggregate or concrete filled GEOWEB® channels offer more economical solutions compared to rip-rap, gabions or reinforced concrete channels. GEOWEB® channel designs may include single layered or tiered systems for low-flow, intermittent vegetated channels. For moderate flow channels, GEOWEB® confined aggregate allows a significantly smaller D50 size for the same protection as larger rip-rap. For higher velocity and continuous flows, GEOWEB® concrete channels are flexible systems, limiting potential for settlement cracks. Colorado State University (CSU) testing proves the GEOWEB® system’s performance benefits with a variety of infills.
