Airfield Repair, Load Support, and Surface Maintenance Systems

Percol® Polymers and Slurries – Rapid Structural Pavement Repair

GeoCHEM Inc.’s Percol® Polymers and Slurries—including GeoSet® rapid-setting concrete slurry repair and GeoFlo® high-performance rapid-setting asphalt slurry repair systems—are engineered for rapid, load-bearing asphalt and concrete repairs in airport and airfield environments. When installed over properly prepared and stable substrates, Percol systems provide fast strength gain, durable bonding, and minimized operational downtime for runways, taxiways, aprons, and other high-load pavement areas.

Percol machine-dispensed systems are typically ready for traffic in approximately 10 minutes, while hand-mixed and hand-placed systems are ready for traffic in as little as one hour, depending on conditions and application. These rapid repair capabilities support ongoing airfield maintenance activities and help reduce loose pavement material that can contribute to Foreign Object Debris (FOD).

Percol® systems are intended for pavement repair and stabilization and support FOD mitigation through restored pavement integrity; they are not standalone FOD detection or sweeping systems.

Terra Polymers® Dust Control – Unpaved Airfield Surface Maintenance

Terra Polymers® products are widely used for soil stabilization and dust control in airport and aviation-related environments, including unpaved runways, helipads, taxiways, access roads, and laydown areas. Effective dust control is a critical component of airfield maintenance, as airborne particulates can affect visibility, equipment performance, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) management.

By improving the in-situ strength of unpaved surfaces, Terra Polymers® help reduce surface degradation caused by aircraft operations, rotor wash, and ground vehicle traffic. Treated surfaces are better able to withstand repeated loading while minimizing dust generation during landings, takeoffs, and ground movements.

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers study (ERDC/GSL TR-10-38) documented that a helipad treated with Terra Polymer® products demonstrated significantly improved dust abatement and in-situ strength compared to untreated soil, supporting their use in military, remote, and temporary aviation facilities. Applications include dust suppression and surface stabilization for unpaved runways, helipads, shoulders, staging areas, and maintenance access routes.
