35 Mil Double-Sided Fabrication Tape for Geomembrane Panel Seaming

Fabrication Tape is a 35 mil, double-sided reinforced aggressive black butyl rubber tape engineered for joining polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) geomembrane panels. Designed for overlap seam construction, it provides a dependable compression seal between panels without the need for thermal welding in appropriate applications.

Its non-hardening formulation remains flexible over time, allowing the seam to accommodate minor substrate movement and thermal expansion while maintaining consistent contact and adhesion.

Ideal for Overlap Seams

Typical installation method:

1. Clean liner surfaces to remove dust, moisture, and debris.

2. Overlap panels per project specification (commonly 3–6 inches).

3. Apply fabrication tape continuously along seam area.

4. Remove release liner carefully.

5. Apply firm pressure using hand roller to ensure full contact.

Proper compression is essential for long-term seam performance.

Liner-to-Concrete Applications

Fabrication Tape can be used to bond polyethylene or polypropylene liners to concrete walls or footings when:

• Concrete is fully cured

• Surface is clean and dry

• Dust and laitance are removed

• Mechanical termination is used where required

In critical containment applications, tape is often supplemented with mechanical fastening systems such as termination bars.

Fabrication vs. Welding – When to Use Tape

Fabrication Tape is ideal when:

• Working with thinner geomembranes or vapor barriers
