GeoPave Porous Paver

GeoPave® Rigid Aggregate Porous Paver System

The GeoPave® Porous Paver System is specifically engineered for aggregate (gravel) stabilization, providing a permeable, high-strength surface for daily vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Unlike flexible systems, GeoPave creates a rigid, structural framework that maintains a level wear surface even under heavy use.

The Engineering Advantage: Monolithic Mesh Bottom

The unique feature of the GeoPave® unit is its integrated (monolithic) molded mesh bottom. This grid serves as the foundation of the system, offering two critical benefits that traditional pavers lack:

  1. Positive Infill Containment: It locks the aggregate within the herringbone cells, preventing the "lifting" or "shuffling" of stone that occurs when vehicles turn.

  2. Prevents Stone Migration: The mesh prevents granular infill from working its way under the paver panels. This eliminates the "heaving" effect, ensuring the system remains flush with the grade over time.

GeoPave® System Components

A complete GeoPave® installation consists of three primary layers designed to work together for maximum durability and permeability:

1. The GeoPave® Unit

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) panels featuring a unique herringbone cell pattern and the integrated bottom mesh for total infill confinement.

2. Engineered Infill

Specifically designed for clean, crushed stone or an aggregate/topsoil mix. The rigid cells protect the infill from displacement while maintaining high percolation rates for stormwater management.

3. Porous Base

An open-graded aggregate base that provides structural support and serves as a detention layer for stormwater runoff.

Functional Performance and Applications

High Bearing Strength & Torsional Resistance

The rigid U-CLIP connection system creates a contiguous framework that efficiently distributes heavy traffic loads (H-20/HS-25). The design is highly resistant to the torsional stresses caused by tires turning and braking, making it ideal for:

  • Daily and Overflow Parking Lots

  • Fire and Utility Access Lanes

  • Driveways and Road Shoulders

  • ADA-Compliant Trails and Walkways

Sustainable Stormwater Management

As a 100% permeable surface, GeoPave reduces runoff and allows for on-site water infiltration. This can decrease or eliminate the need for costly detention ponds and drainage infrastructure.
