Geoweb® Cellular Confinement System | The Original 3D Geocell
Engineering Solutions for an Unstable World Since 1982
If your project demands elite soil stabilization, erosion control, or load support—especially in the unforgiving conditions of the North—there is only one genuine solution. Geoweb®, the original cellular confinement system (CCS), was co-developed by Presto Geosystems and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to meet the highest military and civil standards.
In a market flooded with low-tier imitations, Geoweb® remains the original and genuine geocell technology, backed by 40+ years of proven research in the world's most extreme environments, including the Alaskan Bush and remote North Slope sites. As the authorized exclusive distributor for Presto Geosystems in the State of Alaska, GeoCHEM, Inc. provides the technical expertise and factory-direct inventory required for high-stakes civil engineering projects.

How 3D Confinement Works
The Geoweb® 3-dimensional honeycomb structure utilizes the interaction between hoop stresses in the cell walls and the passive earth resistance of the infill, creating a high-stiffness mattress that:
- Confines Cohesionless Soils: Transforms poor-quality, native on-site infill into a high-performance structural layer, dramatically reducing material transport costs.
- Reduces Base Thickness: Significantly reduces required road base depth compared to conventional designs, saving time and resources.
- Mitigates Settlement: Acts as a flexible structural form that strengthens fills, reduces pavement deflection, and minimizes rutting and long-term maintenance costs.
- Protects Root Zones: Ideal for vegetated slopes and sustainable "green" infrastructure.

The ATRA® Key Advantage: 3X Faster. 3X Stronger.
For remote projects where labor costs and timelines are critical, the ATRA® Key is your primary advantage. In side-by-side field tests, Geoweb® sections connected with ATRA® keys proved to be:
- 3 Times Faster than traditional stapling methods.
- 3 Times Stronger at the connection point.
- Labor Efficient: Requires only one laborer per connection, with no equipment downtime for stapler jams or reloads.

Core Applications & Interface Physics
The performance of 3D confinement is found in the interlock. Utilizing textured (friction-maximizing) and perforated (drainage-optimizing) cell walls, Geoweb® is engineered for:
- Infrastructure: Road Sub-Base, Parking Lots, Intermodal Yards, and Rail Ballast Stabilization.
- Environmental: Slope and Shoreline Protection, Channel Lining, and Dike/Levee Fortification.
- Remote Access: Granular Soft Access Roads and Foundation Mattresses for unstable terrain.
